Rahul, Yogi speaking same language, says Kerala CM

- OUR BUREAU/AGENCIES Thiruvananthapuram/Kollam

After facing flak from some of his own partymen over his remarks in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi was on Thursday at the receiving end of chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s ire.

Rahul had also launched a frontal attack against Pinarayi Vijayan, saying that his government was meant to help only the communists and that anyone carrying a CPI-M flag could even do smuggling sitting in the CM’s office.

Vijayan accused Rahul Gandhi of speaking the same language that UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath spoke while inaugurating state BJP chief K Surendran’s ‘Vijaya Yatra’ at Kasargode.

Yogi had said that the LDF govt has failed to arrest Islamic terrorism, while at the same time accusing the govt of large-scale corruption.

Vijayan also ridiculed the Congress leader for what he described as his antics in driving a tractor in support of the Delhi protest by farmers as well as swimming in the sea during a trip on a fishing boat along with local fishermen.

He said it was ridiculous that Rahul had failed to visit the protesting farmers in Delhi, but was expressing support for them in Kerala. He blamed the policies of the Congress government at the Centre during the 1990s for the plight of the farmers and pointed out that the BJP government was only continuing those policies.
