Key observation
Ref.: ‘Wife, as homemaker, can’t be expected to do all household work’ (February 25), is a very important observation by Bombay High Court. In our society a homemaker is looked down upon by everyone and the amount of household work she does is considered as her ‘duty’ and no one recognises it as ‘work’ and being monetarily compensated is the last thing she could hope for. So, the judges insisting that the relation between a husband and wife is one of equality and one cannot force the wife to do household work, comes as a breath of fresh air for the majority of homemakers.
