Hathras case: Charges framed
A Special Court framed charges against the four accused involved in the gangrape and murder of a 19year-old dalit girl in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on September 14, 2020.
Accepting the CBI chargesheet, the Special Court (SCST Act) framed gangrape and murder charges against the four accused Sandeep, Ravi, Ramu and Lavkush after concludion of hearing from both sides. During the hearing, CBI investigating officer Seema Pahuja, all the 4 accused, and family of the deceased girl were present in the court. The accused were brought from Aligarh Jail under tight security. The court has fixed March 2 as the next date for hearing.
On September 14, 2020, a Dalit girl was gangraped under Chandapa police station. The girl was admitted to a hospital. When her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi where she died after battling for life for two weeks. All the 4 accused were arrested before her death.
Woman gangraped
In another gangrape and attempt to murder case, a married woman was gangraped and was set on fire by a rickshaw puller and 2 others in Mishrikh area of Sitapur.
She was found naked and half burnt in a field by passersby who gave her clothes and informed the police. She was admitted to a hospital in Misrikh and then referred to the district hospital in Sitapur. Doctors attending her said that the lower portion of her body was badly burnt. A case was lodged and the police were waiting for the woman’s statement to carry forward their probe. “We are waiting to record the woman's statement to take our investigation forward,” the SSP NP Singh said.
Unnao case accused taken to crime spot: After getting an 8-hour police remand from the CJM court on Friday, a team of Unnao police took the two arrested accused of Unnao double murder case to the crime spot for further probe after their medical check-up.
To match the third victim’s statement to the magistrate with that of the two accused Vinay And Sachin, the police recreated the crime scene with the help of the accused.
Investigating Officer Om Prakash Rajak, the SHO Asoha police station in Unnao, said they are trying to find out from Vinay who had given him the idea of poisoning the girls after failing in the love affair.
