Go

-

GO is one of the world’s oldest board games. It was played by the Chinese 2000 years ago during the Tang dynasty.

This game can be played by two players. It is a strategy game involving capture and defence.

It has black and white coloured flat stones. The players take turns in placing the stones on the intersections of the grid. A stone is considered captured if the enemy stones completely surround it. Once a stone is placed, it cannot be moved.

The objective of the game is to surround more territory than one’s opponent and to capture as many of the opponent’s stones as possible.

A player counts the number of stones captured, and the e mpt y spaces surrounded by the opponent’s stones to determine the score. The player with the highest score wins the game.

Go is a popular game in East Asia. You can create your own Go board game set. All you need is a sheet of paper divided into a grid of 19 by 19 lines, and many white and black-coloured buttons.
