Alliance will win in WB: Furfura Serif cleric

Sparking new speculatio­n over the Left Front and Congress alliance, Abbas Siddiqui, Furfura Serif cleric and chief of Indian Secular Front (ISF) in a rally at the Brigade Parade ground urged the people to go all out to support the Left Front’s candidate and claimed that the Left Front leaders have accepted all his demands. “I have come here to join the alliance and not for appeasemen­t. CPI (M) leaders Biman Basu and Md Selim have agreed to give us 30 seats. The Congress is yet to comment on it; if the Congress wants friendship with me, I am open to it,” said Siddiqui.

Interestin­gly, West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had to stop his speech in between as Siddiqui walked up the dais as all Left Front leaders were seen standing to welcome the cleric.

Slamming the ruling Trinamool Congress, Siddiqui claimed that Mamata Banerjee’s party is the team ‘B’ of BJP.

“Mamata Banerjee will be completely wiped out after the Assembly polls.

I am challengin­g that the alliance will form the next West Bengal government. Neither the TMC nor the BJP will come to power,” he claimed.

Young crowds flock to LeftCong rally: Youths from different districts of West Bengal have claimed that the Left Front should induct more young faces to regain popularity.

Talking to Free Press Journal, Aditi Nag, an SFI leader of a college in Barasat in

North 24 parganas, said that if the Left introduces new faces then it can regain their lost glory.

SFI activist of JNU, Aishi Ghosh who was also seen in the rally also urged the new generation to join the party to ‘restore democracy in West Bengal’.

Protest against killing of 130 BJP workers

Modipara - a team that is promoting PM Modi in West Bengal - was seen protesting with hands tied and mouths gagged against the alleged killing of BJP workers by TMC supporters. Talking to Free Press Journal, BJP cadre Ramola Chakrabort­y said that the opposition has no right to speak under Mamata Banerjee’s government. “We can’t Speak, we can’t write against Mamata Banerjee Government otherwise the TMC leaders will kill us like they killed our 130 BJP karykartas. It is also our tribute rally for our deceased cadres,” said Chakrabort­y.
