SSC irregularities: HC notice to Centre, U’khand

NAINITAL: The Uttarakhand High Court has issued notices to the Centre and the state government on a plea claiming irregularities in the selection process of a member of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which carries out recruitment for the central government. A bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma also issued notices to the secretary of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Delhi, Department of Post, Delhi and SSC member Ashok Kumar on Thursday.

The central government's DoPT had in January 2020 sought applications for the post of SSC member. The commission is headed by a chairperson and can have two members.
