Another Dalit girl raped, killed in UP

Another Dalit girl was allegedly raped and murdered in the Jayaganj area under Akbarabad police station of Aligarh district in Uttar Pradesh. Irate villagers pelted stones at the police and blocked the road by setting on fire several vehicles to block entr y of police into the village for taking away body of the deceased Dalit girl. Two police officers were injured in the clash. A 16-year-old Dalit girl had gone to the field to collect fodder on Sunday in Jayaganj village. When she did not return home, her family launched a search only to return emptyhanded. Later, her blood-soaked body was found on the outskirts of the village. The police came to know of the incident when a video of recover y of Dalit girl’s body went viral on the social media. Her family suspected their daughter was raped and murdered by unidentified persons. They alleged her undergarment was soaked with blood and clothes were torn. Agitated villagers blocked the road, pelted stones on police to deny them taking the body of the deceased for post mortem.
