Platform ticket for Rs 50 at selected stns
MUMBAI: Now onwards commuters will need to shell out five times extra from their pocket for the platform ticket. The Central Railway has now increased the price of platform tickets from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at the selected railway stations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). This decision comes in wake of reducing overcrowding the platforms owing to the rising corona cases across Mumbai. However, this move did not go well with the commuters stating they were already paying more for travelling in taxi and auto-rickshaw and now for platform tickets also. Shivaji Sutar, chief public relation officer, CR said they have increased the price for platform ticket at selected stations which includes Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, and neighbouring Thane, Kalyan, Panvel and Bhiwandi Road stations.
