Waning pent-up demand likely hit Jan cement output, says CARE
Domestic cement output fell 5.9% on year in Januar y likely because of waning pent-up demand and normalisation of operations in the infrastructure space, a report by CARE Ratings said. In December, cement production had fallen 7.2% from a year ago. In January 2020, output was up 5.1% on year. "Usually, cement production is high during Q4 (JanMar) as construction activities are at their peak," the rating agency said.
