SpiceJet in pact with WheelTug to enhance aircraft gate ops

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet Ltd has partnered UK -based WheelTug Plc to reser ve about 400 production slots for an electric taxi system that will enable the airline to save fuel and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, the airline said in a press release today. This electric taxi system, which will help move the airc raf t for ward or backward without powering its engines, will also help cut noise levels and improve the airline's fleet utilisation capacity, it said.
