COLOMBO PROPOSALS Neutrals to call on Peking for total acceptance

CAIRO, Feb. 6 (PTI)- The six non-aligned Colombo Powers are planning to make a joint appeal to China to accept the Colombo proposals 'in toto', informed sources here said today.

While India has accepted the proposals 'in toto' along with the clarifications, China has raised its own interpretations.

In the light of Indian acceptance of the proposals, some of the sponsoring countries, which had given the world to understand that China had given a positive response to the proposals and accepted them in principle, are now embarrassed over China's continued hedging.
