‘Strict action will be taken against Usmani’
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday said that strict action will be taken against former Aligarh Muslim University student leader Sharjeel Usmani, who is accused of hurting religious sentiments with his comments made at Elgar Parishad in Pune in Januar y this year.
There is no reason to back anyone who poses a threat to national security, Pawar said, adding that all should take sensible positions on crucial issues. Pawar made the remarks in the state Legislative Council. "Strict action will be taken against Sharjeel Usmani and those who have committed the crime. Nobody will be spared. -
In a reprieve for Lodha Developers, the Bombay High Court recently quashed the orders passed by an adjudicating officer, who had ordered the developer to cough up heavy amounts as compensation to the a man, who had bought one of the flats in the New Cuff Parade project at Wadala. A bench of Justices Kamalkishor Tated and Riyaz Chagla held that the adjudicating officer erred in holding that the RERA laws are applicable on the developer's project at Wadala.
Notably, the adjudicating officer had concluded that since the project was a “luxury project”, the developer ought to have avoided a situation where the service ducts are passing through the bedrooms.
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) plans to soon open three Chowpatty (tourist zones) in Thane which are being planned to be developed under water front project. The construction of tourist zones developed near creek area will be completed by this year end, informed a TMC official.
According to the civic official, TMC has over 42 projects in line, which are planned under the Smart city mission. Among these Chowpatty which has been lanned to develop near Naglabandar, Saket and Kolshet will be thrown open for citizens by December 2021.
"In this Kolshet's Chowpatty is spread around 1 km, Naglabandar's on 1.40 km and Saket's on 250 metres.
Besides, this one more Chowpatty will be developed at Kavesar which is spread on around 3.70 km, will take more span compared to the other three scheduled to be completed by this year end," said TMC official.
