UGC NET exam postponed, fresh dates to be announced
The UGC NET December 2020 cycle examination scheduled for May 2021 has been postponed by the government in view of COVID-19 pandemic, announced Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday. "Keeping in mind the safety and well-being of candidates during COVID-19 outbreak, I have advised the National Testing Agency to postpone the UGC-NET December 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams," tweeted Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The UGC - National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for December 2020 cycle (May 2021) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode was scheduled between May 2 to May 17, 2021, throughout the country covering 81 subjects. The revised dates for the UGC-NET December 2020 cycle (May 2021) examination will be announced later and at least 15 days before the examination.
CISCE cancels ICSE class 10 board exam
New Delhi: In wake of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the class 10 board examination.
However, the status of exams for class 12 remains the same as the previous order - the class 12 examination will be conducted at a later date in offline mode.
"Given the present worsening situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the CISCE has decided to cancel the ICSE (Class X) 2021 examination. The options given in the earlier circular dated April 16, 2021, now stands withdrawn," the council said.
The council further directed all CISCE affiliated schools to begin the admission process for Class XI.
Army recruitment
Guwahati: Army recruitment rallies and entrance examinations in different northeastern states have been postponed, officials said on Tuesday.
Defence spokesman Lt. Col P Khongsai said that all the activities of the Common Entrance Examinations scheduled on April 25 have been postponed.
