Politicos language in T’gana attracts widespread criticism

-

Recent speeches by political leaders attracted widespread criticism in Telangana as they preferred to opt for unparliamentary language during their meetings. Initially, it was termed as a cultural renaissance thing during the Telangana struggle. Many say these speeches are a continuation of the trend set by TRS supremo and chief minister KCR, but the present trend is assuming alarming proportions particularly after assumption of two young leaders Bandi Sanjay and Revanth Reddy as leaders of BJP and Congress state committees.

BJP leader Bandi Sanjay and MP Dharmapuri Aravind were seen as forerunners of the new trend and during Dubbaka byelection, these leaders threw down the gauntlet at the opposition and they feel their aggressive speeches have helped them gain upper hand in the elections. One YouTube channel journalist Teenmar Mallanna is also opting for similar language, which was termed objectionable by the ruling party social media team who filed a case against him.

This week, speeches of leaders assumed more aggression when new PCC chief Revanth Reddy threw accusations at minister Malla Reddy. While the Congress leader spoke seriously about alleged land grabbings of the minister, the minister retorted in a more obnoxious language. Political analysts and senior journalists term this trend as unwarranted and feel it would discourage new generations from entering politics.
