Why government mum on Galwan video: Congress

Says PM must ensure China is held accountable

-

The Congress on Friday slammed the Modi government for its deafening silence on a Galwan video released by China that puts it in the category of war crimes and hence liable for prosecution under the international criminal court.

“What is very disturbing to every single Indian is the video of Galwan that was released by the Chinese which shows our braveheart soldiers injured and in captivity of the Chinese,” said its spokesman Pawan Khera, asking the government to confirm if the video is genuine or just a part of the Chinese propaganda machinery.

He told a press conference here that instead of patting each other’s back, the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India should ensure that China is held globally accountable for indulging in war crimes against our brave-hearts.

Khera fired 7 questions on the issue:

1. When will you respond to this verbal, geographic, military and strategic aggression of China?

2. Why is it that on one hand China is brazenly entering into Indian territory, releasing videos of its own misdeeds, and yet our trade with China goes up by a whopping 62.7%? What kind of diplomacy, politics and governance is this?

3. You first ban some apps and then do business with the enemy? —Just this week, a Chinese company was invited to invest Rs600 crore at the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (DMIC — IITGNL)

5. What actions do you propose to take against China in light of this horrific video released by the Chinese?

6. Why this business as usual approach towards an enemy?

7. What are we doing to counter the threats to our country emanating from the recent developments in Afghanistan, in which the obvious gainers are Beijing and Islamabad? and

8. Why are you tolerating allround aggression from China and doing absolutely nothing about it?

RSS CHIEF BLASTED: On RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that “Taliban may change, but Pakistan will never,” Khera said he would not get into what he said but he would certainly ask “who is he?” According to him, “he is a self-appointed head of an unregistered organisation, an organisation, which gave it in writing to Sardar Patel that it will not indulge into politics. Who is he? How is he, any different from the head of SPIC MACAY? It is another cultural organisation. RSS is a cultural organisation by its own admission to Sardar Saheb.” Khera went on to question his live TV coverage and wanted to know what is his business to suggest reconsideration of India’s population.

“As a cultural organisation, what right does he have to delve into everything to play politics from morning to evening, to control this government, it is his government? Does he have the remote control of Prime Minister Modi? Why is he addressing the nation? Let him go to the Prime Minister and talk to him on whatever issues he wants to talk. Why should his address be covered live, I don’t understand. In that case, you should all promise that SPIC MACAY’s chairman’s address should also be covered live all across the nation, why are we wasting our time on him,” he added.
