MANISH GODHA /JAIPUR : The historic Barwara Fort of SawaiMadhopur in Rajasthan is bedecked for the most talked-about wedding of the year – of actors Vicky Kaushal and KatrinaKaif.
Preparations are reportedly in full swing and an event management company of Delhi has been asked to make all necessary arrangements; six vendors have been engaged for essential tasks, including one for jungle safari.
The guests are expected to trickle in from December 6, as per sources. The Six Senses hotel is booked from December 4 to 12 and these include 40 rooms and special suites. The guest list, of course, is a hush-hush affair.
The world-famous ‘Mehendi’ of Sojat city in Rajasthan will be a gift to the couple from the makers of Mehendi. Sojat in Pali district is known for its ‘Mehendi’ the world over and has been given the Geographical Indicator tag. Some 20 kg of Mehendi powder and 400 Mehendi cones have been ordered. The owner of the firm, Nitesh Agarwal, confirmed this to the FPJ and said, "We got this order through an agent and we have to deliver it in Jaipur. The order is ready and we’ll deliver it as soon as we get the call from the agent. He said that this will be a gift from our firm and Sojat to the wedding couple and we are not going to charge anything for this.’’
The district collector of Sawai-Madhopur has called a meeting of police and other officials on Friday. Issues of crowd control, law and order, the ominous Omicron threat and other aspects will be discussed in the meeting.It is the first official confirmation of the wedding, though there is still no word from the event organisers. According to a portal, strict SOPs will be followed at the wedding. These include: No disclosure of wedding attendance; no photography; no sharing of pictures on social media; no sharing of location on social media; no contact with the outside world till one leaves the venue; all photos to be published only after approval from wedding planners; no reels or videos can be made at the wedding venue.
