BJP TO SOUND BUGLE WITH MEGA PROJECTS

With the inaugurati­on of his dream projects of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and foundation-laying of the Ganga Expressway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will set the tone for the 2022 UP Assembly poll due in next three months.

On December 13, the PM will visit his parliament­ary constituen­cy Varanasi to dedicate the first phase of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor to the people. To make it a mega event, the state government has made elaborate arrangemen­ts. Entire area surroundin­g corridor has been illuminate­d with fasad lights. The dedication ceremony of the corridor by PM will be telecast live in around 20,000 temples across the country.

According to the Kashi Vishwanath temple administra­tion, the constructi­on agency would handover the first phase to them on next Friday. With the dedication of the Kashi Vishwanath corri- dor, the UP government has planned a series of programmes in Varanasi to create a buzz among people about this mega project ahead of the assembly poll.

RUN-UP TO POLLS

Instead of the state capital of Lucknow, the UP cabinet will hold its meeting in Varanasi next week. A national-level convention of mayors has been planned in Varanasi this month. Besides, a meeting of agricultur­e experts and businessme­n will be held in Varanasi.

The UP government has almost finalised the plan for foundation laying of the Ganga Expressway by the PM this month. The 594-kmlong Ganga Expressway is estimated to cost Rs36,290 crore and constructe­d in 4 phases. The UP Industrial and Expressway Developmen­t Authority the nodal agency of this expressway, has selected Adani group for the three and Mumbai-based IRB constructi­on for one package.
