Nayak, Santosh Thakur to lead Press body
NEW DELHI: Shilong Times’s CK Nayak was on Sunday elected the president and Navbharat deputy editor Santosh Thakur the general secretary of the Press Association, the only association of accredited journalists in India to lead the national media to safeguard the freedom of the Press. The 10-member body has the responsibility to fight for the rights of the media. Its importance lies in its recognition by the Government of India, in providing it an office in its National Media Centre of the Press Information Bureau in Delhi.
