State housing minister Jitendra Awhad, in a tit for tat response to being called a “cobra face” by Raj Thackeray, said the MNS chief is “standup comedian”. The minister held a media interaction on Wednesday and said many posts for stand-up comedians are vacant and he can fill one.

The MNS chief had taken a personal jibe at many political leaders during his rally in Thane on Tuesday. He took a stand on loudspeakers at mosques and warned the government that his party workers will recite Hanuman Chalisa if no action is taken. He also alleged Mumbra of having terror links; Ahwad represents Mumbra in the state assembly.

Meanwhile, Ahwad said, “Raj Thackeray quoted a 2005 order of the court on loudspeakers, but how come he doesn’t know that even his rally was conducted within 100-mt radius of two schools which are silence zones. The loudspeakers used for his rally should have been pulled down in the first place.”

Ahwad added, “As he said that my face is like an open hood of a cobra, I will say that I am proud to have the countenance of a cobra so that I can strike back at my opponents, Never mind my face, I am proud of it. But can someone check out which part of chicken Raj’s face resembles.”

He said there are so many developmental issues on which the MNS chief would have spoken, but he continues to spread religious hatred in order to break the peace and harmony in the country. “His rally was held a few days prior to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. Why did he not mention anything about Ambedkar and his work,” asked Awhad.
