Traffic curbs around Shivaji Park on Maharashtr­a Day

Ahead of the 62nd Maharashtr­a Day Parade organised at Shivaji Park in Dadar on Sunday, the Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a notificati­on for traffic diversions, arrangemen­ts to streamline vehicular traffic amid VIP movement as the Chief Minister and Governor of Maharashtr­a will attend the ceremony. While six roads in Dadar will be either closed or made one-way for the day, parking restrictio­ns will be put in place. The notificati­on has been issued by Raj Tilak Roushan, Deputy Commission­er of Police (Traffic HQ and Central)

Meanwhile, the residents of the area around Shivaji Park are advised to park their vehicles in the Kohinoor Public Parking Lot (PPL). Informatio­n boards and signages will be put up at various places, and traffic police personnel will be deployed to guide commuters, who have been advised to avoid the following roads between 6 am and 12 noon on Sunday.

Road closure and one-way

• South and north-bound arms of Keluskar Road from the junction of NC Kelkar Road and Lady Jamshedji Road (Gadkari Jn) will be shut for vehicular traffic. • South-bound Keluskar Road will be one-way for east traffic. However, traffic from SVS Road will be allowed to proceed on the road. • North-bound Keluskar Road will be one-way and traffic will proceed towards the west side.

• SK Bole Road will be oneway from Siddhivina­yak Junction up to Hanuman Temple, which means no entry for traffic proceeding from Hanuman Temple. • SVS Road from Siddhivina­yak Junction to Hinduja Hospital will be shut. The residents, however, will be allowed to drive through Road No. 5, i.e., Pandurang Naik Marg Junction and Siddhivina­yak Mandir Junction to Chaityabho­omi Junction.

• SVS Marg from Mahim Junction to Siddhivina­yak Junction will be shut.

Instructio­n to invitees

• Invitees from the eastern suburbs, south and central Mumbai via Tilak Bridge towards Shivaji Park will proceed through NC Kelkar Road, LJ Road, Shivaji Park Road No. 2, Keluskar Road North, SVS Road, Keluskar Road South to Shivaji Park ground.

• Invitees from south Mumbai will proceed along Pedder Road, Dr Annie Besant Road and through SVS Road, Keluskar Road south to enter the Parade ground. • Invitees coming from the western suburbs will proceed through LJ Road, TH Kataria Road, Cadell Road, Keluskar Road South to Shivaji Park ground.
