Manchester City emerge best among the rest

Manchester City emerged as the champions of the Premier League beating Aston Villa 3-2 at their own backyard, in the last match of the English Premier League here on Sunday.

This is the sixth Premier League trophy for the Pep Guardiola side.

"Different situation, different players, so you cannot compare to the previous ones. We focus on the game, it’s a football game, as much as we are close to our game, to get what you have to do, to be who we are, to win the game and the title," had said City manager Guardiola before the kick off.

Three goals in less than six minutes after being down 02 proved they are the best among the rest.

Manchester City’s goals came through Raheem Sterling (76), Oleksandr Zinchenko (78) and Kevin De Bruyne (81) after Aston Villa were ahead with goals from Lucas Digne (37) Ollie Watkins (69).

The leaders welcome back John Stones for his first PL appearance since 20 April, while Kyle Walker is on the bench. Gabriel Jesus starts up front with Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish on the bench. For Villa, Robin Olsen replaces the injured Emiliano Martinez in goal.

Villa took the lead on 37 minutes with their first shot of the match, Matty Cash heading Lucas Digne's cross past Ederson.

Ollie Watkins missed a glorious chance to make it 2-0, stabbing a shot wide, before Philippe Coutinho doubled Villa's advantage on 69 minutes.

In the other match Liverpool who were also in the race for the title beat Wolves 3-1, and to settle with the silver spoon.

"Salah and van Dijk are both ready to come on but not to start. We decided a while ago that we are on a mission, and that’s what we do since then. We try to win football games and nothing changed since then. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said ahead of their match.
