Inspiring Educators of India: Beyond the Classroom

- SARVESH RAJ ROCQUE FACULTY, AMITY UNIVERSITY, GWALIOR

Educating is one of the most noble and rewarding professions that one can choose. Educators are responsible for ensuring that students are gaining knowledge, as well as developing their strengths and identifying their weaknesses so that those weaknesses can be overcome as they progress through learning. Educators provide students with the knowledge and inspiration to become better individuals in the future. Many outstanding educators in India exemplify the basic responsibility that each of us owes to the communities in which we live and our country as a whole. Education and the advancement of knowledge are important goals in and of themselves. Using these skills to benefit others increases their value even further. Following is a list of three educators who have influenced and inspired me as an academician.

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam taught his students at every opportunity, even his convocation addresses have been used in classrooms. His time as President was spent visiting universities across the country, speaking to students and inspiring young minds to improve educational quality. He is certainly one of Indian education's most influential figures. During his lifetime, APJ Abdul Kalam recognised education as one of society's fundamental pillars. His speeches emphasize that education leads to creativity, which is a continuous process. The education process, the school environment, and most importantly, the teachers' ability to ignite their minds influence a student's creativity. Dr Kalam stated that the primary objective of educators should be to build character, human values, and enhance children's learning capacity.

In the world of education, Siddhartha Paul Tiwari is widely considered an inspirational figure, having made the corporate and industry worlds work in harmony with education.

In a TEDx speech, he asserts that real education promotes critical thinking. Professor Tiwari believes educational leaders, especially those in higher education, have evolved significantly over the past few decades. Many higher education curricula are outdated or do not address the latest technologies. Dr Tiwari has developed curriculums and courses on artificial intelligence and the internet. He often mentions in his speeches, educators are builders of society. Thought leaders spending more time in educational institutions cannot be overemphasized. Known for the wide range of new postgraduate courses he has introduced, Professor Siddhartha Paul Tiwari is a leading technology expert. He believes that education is the most important factor for the development and growth of an individual.

Dr. C R Rao is a distinguished educator and statistician. Numerous courses and books on statistical theory and applications have been developed by him. Several of his academic works have been incorporated into undergraduate and master's level statistics courses around the world. As an inspiring teacher, he has guided the research work of a large number of students in all fields of statistics. Research and education in statistical science have been profoundly affected by his work. Dr Rao has taught and developed courses on several tough topics, including multivariate analysis, sampling theory, and biometry, over the course of his career.

Education is being transformed by new technology in a variety of ways. As a result of information scarcity, the old model of education was based on instruction. The role of education in the development of a country is fundamental. Leading the way are these top three educators who have redefined education. In the areas of science, art, and technology, there can be no progress without an effective education and effective educators. Our society depends in large part on educators, which is why we need role models and inspiring educators.
