Key road projects in Niphad taluka get green signal
A crucial road project in Niphad taluka has been approved at the government level, significantly enhancing connectivity and addressing safety concerns. The concreting of the Lasalgaon-Vinchur road and the Madharangaon Sarole to Khedlezhunge road has been sanctioned before the onset of the Lok Sabha election code of conduct, marking a significant milestone in local infrastructure development.
With a substantial fund allocation of `134.18 crore, these projects aim to address longstanding issues related to road quality and traffic congestion. The LasalgaonVinchur State Highway 7, located in Niphad taluka, serves as a vital artery for transportation, particularly due to the heavy traffic flow to the Lasalgaon Bazaar Samiti, Asia's largest onion market.
The Lasalgaon-Vinchur road is notorious for its deteriorating condition, leading to frequent accidents and traffic snarls. Recognizing the urgency of improving this critical thoroughfare, Chhagan Bhujbal spearheaded efforts to concrete the Chandwad boundary-Lasalgaon to Vinchur four-lane road and the Mhasoba Matha Dharangaon Sarole to Khedlezhunge road.Through the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation, plans have been finalized to construct a fourlane road spanning 9.600 km from Chandwad area-Lasalgaon to Vinchur and a 14.100 km stretch from Mhasoba Matha Dharangaon Sarole to Khedlezunge.
The proposed enhancements are expected to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce accidents, and facilitate smoother communication between key destinations. Additionally, widening the Bokadara Khedlejunge road from Lasalgaon to Sinnar and Shirdi will further improve connectivity. fostering economic growth and development in the region.
