BJP’s Karnataka partner Janata Dal (Secular) has expressed discontentment over the national party’s silence on seat sharing.

“We are happy and content with the alliance to keep the Congress out of power. There, however, was some communication gap with regard to the seat allocation. There was a view whether we should surrender to the BJP just for two seats? Now that has been sorted out and we are contesting three seats,’’ the former CM said.

According to him, out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in

Karnataka, JD(S) will contest three - Hassan, Mandya and Kolar (SC). “Our party has the capability to swing results in favour of the BJP in at least 18 Lok Sabha Seats. HD Kumaraswamy said out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, JD(S) will contest three - Hassan, Mandya and Kolar (SC) alliance between the BJP and the JD(S).

“I do not need your sympathy,’’ he replied in answer to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s comment that he was feeling sorry about the poor status of the JD(S).

“It is after an alliance with you (Congress) that our party was marginalised,’’ Kumarswamy said.

Referring to large scale inducements being offered to the voters by the

Congress in Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha, the former chief minister demanded the election commission to transfer Ramangara Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and other top officials to ensure free and fair elections.

Kumaraswamy’s brother in law and noted cardiologist Dr CN Manjunath is contesting from Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha on BJP symbol. He is contesting against three time member DK Suresh, younger brother of Shivakumar.
