FIR in CM Vishnu Deo Sai doctored video case

CM Sai was shown appealing public to vote in favour of Congress candidate Bhupesh Baghel

- STAFF REPORTER

On the complaint of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation, Civil Lines Police of Capital city Raipur lodged an FIR on Friday against the creator of doctored video in which Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was shown demanding vote for Congress Party Lok Sabha candidate from Rajnandgaon Bhupesh Baghel.

Police lodged an FIR against the unidentified creator and the channel through which the video clip was circulated on social media.

The BJP delegation was comprised of District President Jayanti Patel, State Media Incharge Amit Chimnani, Election Commission Committee Head Vijay Shankar Mishra, Social Media Coordinator Somesh Pandey, Rasik Parmar, State Spokesperson Kedar Gupta, Amit Sahu.

BJP delegation led by spokesperson Amit Chimnani leveled serious allegations against the Congress party and its leaders and said, as the Congress is aware of the fact that they are badly losing the elections so they have adopted such a cheap level of tactics.

BJP leaders said the police lodged an FIR under IPC section 465, 469, 471, 66 C against the creator and channel through which the video is circulated and initiated a probe into it.

On April 3, 2024 CM Sai made a public speech in Mahasamund. That video clip was doctored and presented in such a manner that CM Sai was seen making public appeal to vote in the favour of Congress candidate ex-CM Bhupesh Baghel, which is highly offensive, unacceptable and in direct violation of the model code of Conduct, the BJP delegation complained.

It is an attempt to distort the image of CM Sai. The complainant is emotionally hurt by a mischievous act. Finally a complaint was registered with the civil lines police, Amit Chimnani mentioned.

He also demanded the channel should be immediately banned on social media sites.
