CONGRESS NEVER KEPT PROMISE FOR WOMEN

- STAFF REPORTER / RAIPUR

Former Mayor of Bilaspur Vani Rao, former National Secretary of Mahila Congress and former Municipal Corporation President of Mahasamund Anita Raote, District Panchayat President of Mahasamund Usha Patel and Aruna Shukla jointly addressing media on Wednesday made a sharp attack on Congress saying that the party has always cheated women. It used them only as a vote bank.

All these leaders have recently deserted Congress and joined the BJP. They said Congress has a track record of deceit and betrayal of women at every step. Of all the promises made for women, not even a single promise has been fulfilled. The Congress is making a big announcement which could not give Rs 500 to women.

They pointed out that Congress government Bhupesh government promised to give Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to women. It did not give even a single rupee during the entire five-year rule. The same Congress across the country is speaking of giving one lakh rupees annually to women? Congress should tell the country how it will give Rs 50 lakh crore annually to women, when the total budget of the country is equivalent to it. They further said the Congress government did not fulfil the total prohibition in the state. The Congress government did not pay the women of self-help groups in the state and also did not sell the products manufactured by them properly. It was also promised to provide 4 free cylinders to every rural family every year. A total of 20 cylinders were to be given but no one got anything, they said.
