Electricity duty, water tax of selected industrialists waived off: Chandrashekhar

- STAFF REPORTER / Raipur

Former general secretary incharge of Congress Chandrashekhar Shukla on Tuesday alleged that Congress government led by Bhupesh Baghel had purposefully waived off the electricity duty and water tax of selected industrialists of Chhattisgarh.

Addressing the media at Rajnandgaon, he said it was the case which was pending for ten years. The then Raman Singh government had taken stern action against these industrialists for their default.

Shukla had recently joined the BJP and was exposing the scam of the previous Congress government, of which he was also a part.

He said thousands of crores were waived off through the then Industries Secretary Anil Tuteja, which was beyond their jurisdiction. A huge commission worth thousands of crores in lieu of waiving off the amount was charged.

Shukla alleged that will the former Chief Minister break his silence on the issue? Why did he kill the rights of the poor people of Chhattisgarh to benefit selected people? It is completely clear from the incident that the former CM is not only with the poor of Chhattisgarh but also with the industrialists.

Shukla further alleged that on June 03, 2019, Anil Tuteja, took the charge of Joint Secretary of Commerce and Industry, his appointment was wrong because it was a cadre post. The General Administration Department carries out such appointments. So he was ineligible for the same, yet they remained in the said posts for four years after the GAD gave the green signal. During the tenure many fake MoUs were signed and the laws amended to benefit only the industrialists. No opportunity for corruption was left.
