Vaccine safety: AIM says Govt was aware of Covishield side-effect

The Awaken India Movement (AIM), an organisation involved in virus research, testing, vaccine research, pandemic protocols, and lockdown impacts, has raised concerns about the safety of Covishield and other Covid vaccines authorised for emergency use without completing clinical trials.

On Monday, AIM organised a discussion on the safety concerns around Covishield. The event was attended by three doctors, a lawyer, a science professor, and families of people who died from adverse effects of the vaccine. They expressed concerns over the government’s knowledge of TTS since May 2021 and SII’s acknowledgement of the risk in October 2021, following the death of a 33year-old frontline worker. It also alleged that SII denied that their vaccine could cause

TTS, but quietly included it as a risk in their vaccine’s product insert in October 2021.

AIM criticised the government for allegedly ignoring rising post-vaccination deaths and promoting COVID-19 vaccines as safe without proper scientific investigation or epidemiological studies.

“The product insert was never seen by the people because health workers administered pre-filled injections. The circumstances of the government purchasing and mandating vaccinations meant that those vaccinated did not have the opportunity to see the product insert,” AIM stated, adding that the government never considered prior informed consent as a necessity.

AIM urged the government to compensate all victims of vaccines and establish fasttrack courts and vaccine courts.
