CR Paatil urges voters to turn out in Phase 3 polls

- MELVYN THOMAS /

With election campaigning coming to a close in Gujarat for the third phase of polling slated for May 7, BJP Gujarat president CR Paatil has made a fervent appeal to voters in the four assembly constituencies falling under the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency to exercise their democratic right on polling day.

CR Paatil, who is vying for his fourth consecutive term in the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency, took to social media to urge residents of Surat to participate in the electoral process. Highlighting the confusion surrounding the uncontested election of the BJP candidate for the Surat Lok Sabha seat, Paatil emphasized the importance of voting in the Udhana, Limbayat, Choryasi, and Majura legislative assemblies, which fall under the jurisdiction of the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency.

Paatil stated, "There are about 13 lakh voters in the four assembly constituencies in Surat, which is part of the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency. Due to the Surat seat being declared uncontested, there is utter confusion among the voters that polling will not take place on May 7. Except for other assembly constituencies, the voters in four assembly constituencies of Udhana, Limbayat, Choryasi, and Majura come under the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency. We have appealed to the people of these constituencies to come out and cast their franchise on May 7."

It is crucial to note that voters in these four assembly constituencies in Surat have been duly informed about the

Election Commission's directives and the candidates of various political parties contesting in the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency on May 7. BJP workers have embarked on an extensive outreach initiative, visiting every household in these constituencies to distribute election slips and raise awareness about the upcoming polling day.

As Gujarat gears up for the third phase of polling, the BJP's grassroots efforts to mobilize voters highlights the party's commitment to ensuring robust democratic participation. Amidst lingering confusion regarding polling in Surat, Paatil's clarion call serves as a rallying cry for citizens to exercise their voting rights and actively contribute to the democratic process.

With the stage set for a decisive electoral showdown, the onus lies on the electorate to shape the future trajectory of governance through their ballot choices. As the countdown to May 7 begins, all eyes are on Gujarat as it embarks on yet another chapter in its democratic journey.
