SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT

This Holi instead of wasting precious water, you could choose to make a splash with statement accessories from Rainbow Hues. The earrings featuring pichkaris, baltis and gulal matkas are crafted in acrylic. “Since Holi is a festival of colours, we have used bright pinks, greens, blues, gold and orange,” says Rebecca Mendonza, who started Rainbow Hues two years ago at her home in Kamanahalli, Bengaluru.

The 34yearold says she loved collecting jewellery and after the birth of her son, decided to turn her passion into a business. “We launch a collection every festival be it Christmas, Deepavali, Holi or Halloween, and season, — summer, monsoon and winter. For Christmas, there are Christmas tree and Santa Claus themed earrings while for Deepavali there are earrings with anar, chakra, rockets and diyas.” Umbrellas, leaves and butterfly themed earrings, Rebecca says, do well all year round.

Apart from the festive and season themed accessories and the customised pieces, (name necklaces and earrings) Rainbow Hues has a range of quirky foodthemed earrings and accessories. “We love to celebrate food and do so with accessories featuring vada pav, icecream, samosa, chilli, strawberry, avocado, pastry, doughnuts, momos, burgers, pizzas, chai, tender coconut, French fries, cupcakes, and coffee.” The popcorn earrings, Rebecca says, are their bestselling foodthemed accessory.

Rainbow Hues accessories are available online (rainbowhues.in) in the price range of ₹125 to ₹499
