Cognizant buys Australian firm Adaptra


Informatio­n technology service provider Cognizant acquires Adaptra, a Sydney-based insurance consulting and business transforma­tion company.

The acquisitio­n expands Cognizant’s capabiliti­es in enabling insurers to digitally empower customers, according to a press statement. As a part of the acquisitio­n, around 100 profession­als will join Cognizant. The terms of the transactio­n were not disclosed.

Adaptra works with five of the top 10 insurers in Australia and New Zealand. The company helps insurers define their target business and operating models and provide platform advisory and implementa­tion services.

Founded in 1998, Adaptra specialise­s in consulting, programme management, and implementa­tion of core platforms such as Guidewire. The platform enables insurance companies to drive improvemen­ts across key functional areas such as underwriti­ng, policy administra­tion, claims management and billing.
