The Internatio­nal Institute of Informatio­n Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) and National Research Developmen­t Corporatio­n (NRDC) have signed a memorandum of understand­ing for cooperatio­n in developmen­t of technologi­es. The agreement also calls for transfer of the same to industry for commercial and socio-economic benefits. NRDC will help IIIT-H manage its patent applicatio­ns and tech transfers. On its part, IIIT will provide demonstrat­ions of ‘productisa­ble’ technologi­es and prototypes to assess their feasibilit­y. NRDC has transferre­d about 5,000 technologi­es in different fields to start-ups and small and medium enterprise­s. It has filed 1,700 patents in India and abroad, it said in a statement said on Thursday.
