Accor to launch Raffles brand in India


Hospitalit­y group Accor has announced that it will launch its luxury brand Raffles in India, with hotels in Jaipur and Udaipur.

With 13 properties across 11 countries, each Raffles hotel represents a carefully curated experience.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, said: “It is with immense pride that we announce the arrival of the Raffles brand in India, a hallmark of luxury and sublime service in a country that is famous for delivering luxury at the highest level.”

“We met the owner who has two incredible properties in Rajasthan. We wanted Raffles to be present in India. Udaipur and Jaipur are also the easiest bets for us with the number of inbound travellers.”

Ratankant Sharma is the owner of the properties. Accor has a contract with him for 101 rooms and suites for Raffles’ Udaipur property at Accor has a contract with Ratankant Sharma, who owns properties in Rajasthan, for 101 rooms and suites in Udaipur

Udaisagar lake and 53 rooms and suites for the Jaipur property and Kukas.

Speaking about the collaborat­ion, Sharma said, “This partnershi­p reinforces our foresight of India becoming a global gateway with worldclass facilities that set new standards for residents and visitors alike. We look forward to welcoming guests and offering them the most memorable experience in a timeless destinatio­n.”

The Accor group has 5,000 hotels across the globe. “India is an important market,

however it contribute­s only 1-2 per cent of the Accor group . We want to grow 7-8 per cent in the next 7-10 years,” said Bazin.

Jean-Michel Cassé, Chief Operating Officer – India and South Asia, Accor, said: “We are seeing increasing demand for luxury travel in India and are looking forward to expanding Accor’s globally renowned portfolio of luxury brands in this incredible country.
