Ab­bott launches dig­i­tal health ser­vice plat­form

Global health­care com­pany Ab­bott on Tues­day launched its new dig­i­tal health ser­vice in In­dia as part of its global a:care pro­gramme.

The a:care ser­vice has been de­signed to meet a range of health­care needs — from pre­ven­tion to aware­ness, ad­her­ence to treat­ment and mo­ti­va­tion. The ser­vice is for free and not tied to any prod­uct, treat­ment or dis­ease, notes a re­lease from the health­care ma­jor.

Stat­ing that the pro­gramme has been de­signed to fa­cil­i­tate com­mu­ni­ca­tion be­tween doc­tors and con­sumers, Jawed Zia, Head, Ab­bott Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal In­dia, said: “

New tech­nolo­gies that mon­i­tor health, an­a­lyse data and of­fer per­son­alised rec­om­men­da­tions can help and ed­u­cate peo­ple in pre­ven­tion, thanks to emerg­ing dig­i­tal tech­nolo­gies that use data and AI to mon­i­tor pa­tients.”

The dig­i­tal plat­form cur­rently in­cludes di­a­betes, thy­roid and os­teoarthri­tis.
