Minister lays foundation stone for new projects in Namakkal
Minister for Forests M. Mathiventhan laid the foundation stone for new projects and inaugurated a completed project worth ₹3.08 crore on Tuesday.
Mr. Mathiventhan laid the foundation stone for developing the road from Padamudipalayam to Ariyuran Thottam and Thangayee Temple at a cost of ₹2.58 crore in Ward 1 of Velur Town Panchayat. Similarly, the Minister inaugurated the market at Jedarpalayam in Vadakaraiyathur panchayat at a cost of Rs. 49.99 lakh.
In another function held at the Veterinary Medical College Hospital, Rajya Sabha member K. R. N. Rajeshkumar distributed welfare assistance worth ₹5.56 lakh to 46 beneficiaries.
Speaking at the function, Mr. Rajeshkumar stated that the veterinary hospital in Namakkal town was relocated to the Veterinary College campus to cater to the needs of the farmers in the region. The hospital is now functioning in its own building, providing medical services to the cattle of nearby villages. Additionally, the Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital is being equipped with drinking water facilities at a cost of ₹7 crore. In Namakkal district, Salem Aavin receives 1.50 lakh to 2 lakh litres of milk per day, which is produced by the farmers. A modern dairy, using Danish technology, will be established in the district at a cost of ₹90 crore. The dairy farm will utilize ecofriendly methods to recycle treated water. The milk chilling centre on the farm will be the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu, costing ₹8 crore, according to Mr. Rajeshkumar.
