₹430crore Cherlapalli railway station to be ready soon: SCR
The ₹430crore Cherlapalli railway station, which is scheduled to become the fifth passenger terminal in the twin cities, is likely to be ready in the next few weeks. Three trains have already begun to halt at the station since Thursday.
South Central Railway (SCR) official spokesperson informed on Saturday that Charlapalli is strategically located on the eastern side of Hyderabad and near the Outer Ring Road (ORR). The railway station here is expected to reduce the congestion on other rail terminals and serve the passengers living on that side of the capital region.

The station will have six booking counters, and an executive lounge on the ground floor, according to officials
rabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda railway stations. Meanwhile, the Lingampalli station on the western part was developed as another terminal station.
The new station building at Cherlapalli, which has a modern architectural facade, is being constructed to handle passengers. It has six booking counters, separate waiting halls for ladies and gentlemen, an upperclass waiting area, and an executive lounge on the ground floor.
The first floor of the new station will house a cafeteria, restaurant, and restroom facilities for both ladies and gentlemen. Its design will feature spacious concourse areas and a modern elevation with illuminated facade lighting. Four additional highlevel platforms will be added, and five existing platforms have also been extended to accommodate fulllength trains. Two new foot overbridges—12 metres and 6 metres in width—to facilitate seamless interplatform movement are under construction, while all nine platforms will be connected with escalators and lifts. It will also have coach maintenance facilities for facilitating the starting of trains from the station. Parking for two and fourwheelers, bus bay, electronic display of train movement and CCTV surveillance are part of the package, said the presser.
