Eshwar defeated Manas 62 in the boys’ under16 final of the Twin Cities tennis tournament at GBR Club (Kompally) on Thursday.

Saanvi in US women’s national cricket team

Hyderabad, got a place in the US women’s national cricket team.

Saanvi will represent the American team in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers in the UAE later this year. The 15yearold made her cricket debut in 2020 for San Ramon Youth Cricket Associatio­n California. She claimed nine wickets on debut in the u13 category.

Sanvi was trained by ICC Level3 coach Jagadish Reddy, who hails from Hyderabad.

P.V. Sindhu made the quarterfin­als of the Madrid Spain Masters badminton with a 2114, 2112 win over Taiwan’s Huang YuHsun, on Thursday.

Eighthseed­ed men’s doubles team of M.R. Arjun and Dhruv Kapila and the mixed pairing of B. Sumeeth Reddy and N. Sikki Reddy also made the last eight.

With top seed Carolina Marin of Spain pulling out after her titlewinni­ng run at the All England Championsh­ips and Swiss Open in the last two weeks, Sindhu is now the favourite to claim the crown.Sindhu won her last BWF tour title at the 2022 Singapore Open Super 500.
