Odisha FC thrashes Sethu FC

Odisha FC struck twice in each half to blank Sethu FC 40 in the Indian Women’s League on Saturday. Myanmar striker Win Theingi Tun (fourth minute), India Internatio­nal K. Indumathi (23rd) and Pyari Xaxa (60th and 78th) scored for the winner.

Odisha’s seventh win from nine matches took it two points clear of Gokulam Kerala (20) at the top of the table.

St. Berchmans College triumphs

KOCHI: Niyath Salie and Tom Jose scored 16 points each as Changanass­ery’s St. Berchmans College defeated Kodakara’s Sahrdaya 6862 and won the 79th Fr. Bartholome­w allKerala intercolle­giate basketball tournament at the Sacred Heart College, Thevara.

Former internatio­nal Vivek Vasudevan Nair, superinten­dent of customs, Thiruvanan­thapuram Airport, gave away the prizes.

The result: St. Berchmans, Changanass­ery 68 (Niyath Salie 16, Tom Jose 16) bt Sahrdaya, Kodakara 62 (Dinoy C. Varghese 14, Hans 11).

Masters to meet Athreya in summit clash

THRISSUR: Masters CC will meet Athreya CA in the final of the Navio Youth Trophy under22 allKerala cricket tournament.

In the semifnals, Masters rode on centuries from Abhishek J. Nair (116) and Abijith Praveen (106) to crush Trident CA by 196 runs while Athreya CA defeated MA Cricket Academy by five wickets. The scores: Masters 350/6 in 30 overs (Abhishek J. Nair 116, Abijith Praveen 106, Abhiram Bhasi 3/56) bt Trident 154 in 24.3 overs (P.S. Navaneeth 66, Edhen Apple Tom 3/18).

MACA 188 in 28.3 overs (S. Sreehari 74, S.S. Sharon 4/33, Vasudev 4/37) lost to Athreya 189/5 in 27.1 overs (T.J. Aadidev 65, Pavan Sreedhar 30 n.o., Shine John Jacob 3/24).
