13 candidates in fray in Kozhikode, 10 in Vadakara
Independent candidate for Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency Abdul Rahim withdrew his nomination on Monday, the last day to do so.
There are 13 candidates in the fray in Kozhikode constituency and 10 in Vadakara.
The candidates for the Kozhikode constituency are Jothiraj M. (SUCI), Elamaram Kareem [CPI (M)], M.K. Raghavan (INC), M.T. Ramesh (NDA), Arumughan (BSP), Aravindakshan Nair M. (Bharatiya Javan Kisan), and Subha, Raghavan N., T. Raghavan, P. Raghavan, Abdul Kareem K., Abdul Kareem, and Abdul Kareem, all Independents.
The candidates in Vadakara are K.K. Shailaja [CPI(M)], Shafi Parambil (INC), Praphul Krishnan (BJP), and Shafi T.P., Muraleedharan, Kunhikkannan, Shailaja K., Shailaja K.K., and Shailaja P., all Independents.
Nine candidates in Wayanad
As many as nine candidates will contest in the Lok Sabha elections from the Wayanad constituency. Akeel Ahamed, an Independent candidate, withdrew his nomination on Monday.
The candidates are K.P. Sathyan (Independent), Ajeeb Muhammed (Independent), Rahul Gandhi (INC), Annie Raja (CPI), K. Surendran (NDA), P.R. Krishnan Kutty (Bahujan Samaj Party), Praseetha Azheekode (Independent), P. Radhakrishnan (Independent), and A.C. Sinoj (Independent).
In Malappuram, Ponnani
Two Independent candidates withdrew their nominations for the Lok Sabha polls in Malappuram constituency on Monday. They are Naseef P.P. and N. Bindu. None, however, withdrew nominations in Ponnani constituency.
There are eight candidates each in Malappuram and Ponnani constituencies. They were allotted poll symbols also.
The contestants in Malappuram are M. Abdul Salam (BJP), T. Krishnan (BSP), E.T. Mohammed Basheer (IUML), V. Vaseef [CPI(M)], P.C. Narayanan (BDP), Abdul Salam (Independent), Naseef Ali Mullappalli (Independent), and Thrissur Naseer (Independent).
The contestants in Ponnani are M.P. Abdussamad Samadani (IUML), Nivedita Subramanian (BJP), Vinod (BSP), K.S. Hamza [CPI (M)], Abdussamad Malayampalli (Independent), Bindu (Independent), Hamza (Independent), and Hamza Kadavandi (Independent).
In Palakkad, Alathur
Ten candidates remain in the fray in Palakkad and five in Alathur when the deadline for withdrawal of nominations passed on Monday. Independent candidate in Palakkad P.V. Rajesh withdrew his nomination.
The final list of candidates in Palakkad are C. Krishnakumar (BJP), K.T. Padmini (BSP), A. Vijayaraghavan (CPIM), V.K. Sreekandan (Congress), and Independent candidates Annama Kuriakose, C. Rajamanikyam, K. Rajesh, M. Rajesh, N.S.K. Puram Sasikumar, and Siddeek Iruppassery.
The candidates in Alathur are Ramya Haridas (Congress), K. Radhakrishnan (CPIM), T.N. Sarasu (BJP), Hari Irumbil (BSP), and V. Krishnankutty (Independent).
