Kozhikode records 81.25% pass in Plus Two examinatio­ns

District pushed to fourth spot in the State behind Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur; of the 38,820 students, 4,614 scored A+ in all subjects

Kozhikode district reported a pass percentage of 81.25 when the results of Plus Two examinatio­ns for the 2023-24 academic year were declared on Thursday.

Of the 38,820 students who had appeared for the exams, 31,542 became eligible for higher studies. A total of 4,614 students scored A+ in all subjects. Calicut School for the Handicappe­d, Kolathara, Sree Narayana Higher Secondary School, Vadakara, Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, and C.M. Higher Secondary School, Mannur North, registered cent per cent success.

The district, however, was pushed to the fourth spot in the State compared to its performanc­e in the previous academic year. Last year, with a pass percentage of 86.32, it was in the second position. This time Kozhikode is behind Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur.

In Malappuram

Malappuram district registered 79.63% pass in the higher secondary examinatio­ns held this year. While 61,213 students wrote the examinatio­ns in 243 schools in the district, 48,744 were quali—ed for higher education. As many as 5,654 students secured

A+ in all subjects. This is the highest number in the State.

The district registered 58% pass in the technical higher secondary category. Out of the 331 students who took the examinatio­ns, 192 passed. Five of them got A+ in all subjects.In the open school category, 5,762 students passed the exam. As many as 15,402 had appeared for the examinatio­ns.

In the vocational higher secondary category, 69.40% students quali—ed for higher studies in Malappuram. Out of the 2,797 students who wrote the examinatio­ns, 1,941 passed.

In Wayanad

Malappuram district registered 79.63% pass in the higher secondary examinatio­ns held this year. While 61,213 students wrote the examinatio­ns in 243
