Centre controls all nationalised banks for political purpose: Selvaperunthagai

-

“State Bank of India’s (SBI) reply to the Supreme Court that it needs more time to study the details of the Electoral Bonds received by various parties is a blatant lie on part of the bank as it is just a few minutes work to analyse the data and ascertain details of the receivers,” said K. Selvaperunthagai, president of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee.

Speaking at a party meeting at a private hall here on Tuesday, Mr. Selvaperunthagai said it was very evident that the BJP government not only has central agencies like CBI, Income Tax, and Enforcement Directorate under its control but also controls the nationalised banks in the country to use them for political benefits.

India was turning like

Pakistan in being disobedient to the Supreme Court, which was like setting a dangerous precedent, he added. “Though India has a very firm Constitution, Narendra Modi government for the past 9.5 years has been acting against it,” said Mr. Selvaperunthagai.

Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi and Narendra Modi praise William Jones for his studies on Sanskrit language but criticise Robert Caldwell.

“Mr. Ravi being unaware that without Robert Caldwell there would not have been any schools in the State levelled baseless criticism against his contributions to Tamil language and to the society,” he added. Recent surveys revealed that Rahul Gandhi had about 72% chance of winning the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, so it showed that the I.N.D.I.A alliance was strong enough to take over the BJP government, he said.

Refuting Congress’ links with AIADMK in forming an alliance, Mr. Selvaperunthagai said their negotiations with the DMK in Tamil Nadu would soon end with a positive result as talks were under way.

He questioned the partiality of the Central government in funding AIIMS project in Madurai and Gujarat. “While Gujarat and other AIIMS constructed in the last few years were funded by the Central government, AIIMS in Tamil Nadu alone is funded by the Japanbased JICA,” he added.

“Congress will be staging a protest in Mayiladuthurai on Wednesday condemning SBI, and in the following day Congress members would stage a protest outside SBI in all district headquarters,” he announced.
