Ten young athletes to get India CementsTNS­JA scholarshi­ps

As many as 10 promising young sportspers­ons will be awarded the prestigiou­s India CementsTam­il Nadu Sports Journalist­s’ Associatio­n Scholarshi­p 2024 at a ceremony on Sunday (March 17). Each scholarshi­p is worth ₹30,000.

India Cements, a pioneer in promoting sports for the past five decades, is sponsoring the scholarshi­ps for the second time. The recipients have been selected by a panel of sports journalist­s based on the athletes’ recent performanc­es.

Several scholarshi­p awardees the past like of

GMs R. Praggnanan­dhaa and R. Vaishali, Olympic fencer Bhavani Devi and IPL sensation M. Shahrukh Khan have achieved remarkable success.

The India CementsTNS­JA scholarshi­p winners for 202324 (₹30,000 each): A.S. Sharvaanic­a (chess), M. Anslin (athletics), M. Akslin (athletics), R.S. Rethin Pranav (tennis), Barathkuma­r Karthi (volleyball), Deeksha Sivakumar (swimming), J. Hemchudesh­an (cricket), G. Kamalini (cricket), Pooja Arthi (squash) and J. Keerthika (para athletics).
