A record 81.15% results in II PU examinatio­n in State

With an overall pass percentage of 81.15, Karnataka, this year, achieved record results in the first annual exam of II PU.

The Karnataka School Examinatio­n and Assessment Board (KSEAB) announced the results on Wednesday. Of the total 6,81,079 students who appeared for the exam, 5,52,690 passed.

Compared to the previous year, the result has increased by 6.48% this year. In 2023, the pass percentage was 74.67.

“This year, we introduced 80:20 question paper pattern for II PU students and conducted the theory exam for 80 marks and internal assessment for 20 marks for all nonpractic­al subjects. For practical subjects, theory examinatio­n was conducted for 70 marks and 30 marks were for practicals.

We also asked Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and other onemark questions for up to 20 marks. It helped the students and aided in improving the results,” said Manjushree. N., chairperso­n of KSEAB at a the press conference.

While A. Vidyalaksh­mi, a student of Vidyaniket­han Science PU College, HubballiDh­arwad, emerged as the State topper in the Science stream with 598 marks out of 600, Ganavi M., a student of Vidyanidhi

Independen­t PU College, Tumakuru secured 597 marks out of 600 to top the Commerce stream.

Three students managed to secure similar marks in the Arts stream and emerged as State toppers with 596 marks out of 600. Medha D., a student of NMKRV PU college, Bengaluru; Vedant J. Navi of SS PU College, Vijayapura, and Kavitha B.V., a student of Indu Independen­t PU College, Kottur, Ballari district.
