Criminal case to be filed against voter
Sanjay Kaul, Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala), said on Wednesday that a criminal case will be filed against a voter in Beypore, Kozhikode, who was found to have obtained multiple voter ID cards.
At a press meet here, Mr. Kaul said it could have been a deliberate attempt to create the impression that the electoral roll is not correct. He said the Shahir Shahul Hameed, who already held a voter ID card, had applied for the cards twice again.
On March 12, the CEO ordered the suspension of two poll officials in connection with the incident.
As many as nine startup ventures backed by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) participated in the threeday ‘Startup Mahakumbh 2024’ that concluded in New Delhi on Wednesday, showcasing their products and services before leading stakeholders, including investors, mentors, and decisionmakers.
Held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, the event saw convergence of incubators, accelerators and industry leaders from several sectors. It was organised by ASSOCHAM and NASSCOM among others. The focal theme of the event was ‘Bharat Innovates’.
KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said it was a significant event for Kerala startups which showcased pivotal innovations from the State’s startup ecosystem.
Noting that the event was a gamechanger in the entrepreneurial landscape of the country, he said it served as a unique platform where India’s innovation prowess took the centre stage before global innovators.
‘Valuable insights’
The CEO said the nine startups from the KSUM could interact with stakeholders including investors, industry leaders, and mentors. “They gained valuable insights from workshops hosted by industry veterans and unicorn founders,” he added.
Another highlight of the event was the Future Entrepreneurs Day, focussing on cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit among students. The event hosted more than 1,000 investors, 500plus incubators and accelerators, and 40,000plus business visitors, a press note said.
