Innings win for Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha

Host Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha recorded wins in the South Zone inter-district under-16 cricket tournament here on Sunday. Thiruvananthapuram crushed Pathanamthitta by an innings and 248 runs while Alappuzha drubbed Kottayam by an innings and 114 runs. The other matches in Central Zone and North Zone ended in draws

The scores: South Zone: Pathanamthitta 49 & 71 in 23.6 overs (Nandan R.Nair 5/14, Muhammed Raihan 4/14) lost to Thiruvananthapuram 368/9 decl. Kottayam 101 &100 in 43.,2 overs (Johaan Jikupal 59, Dhanush Vinayak 3/5) lost to Alappuzha 315/5 in 70 overs (A. Nayeemsha 118, A. Abhinand 51, S. Suhail 33).

Central Zone: Thrissur 286/7 & 255/4 in 41 overs (K.S. Navaneeth 104, Chris Prinson 101, Adhu Sivan 3/97) drew with Idukkki 220 in 53.3 overs (Sachin Arun 151 n.o.).

Ernakulam 281 & 215/7 in 45.4 overs (P. Deva Murali 100, Jayadev 37 n.o.) drew with Palakkad 128.

North Zone: Wayanad 217 & 164/4 in 49 overs (Gowtham Krishna 73) drew with Kasaragod 219 in 64.1 overs (Muhiyudheen Zidane 68, Gowtham Krishna 4/23).

Malappuram 78 & 212 in 79.5 overs (Aashmit Narayan 115, A.K. Tariq 4/40) drew with Kannur 85 in 53 overs ( B. Sivdev 3/20, P.P. Akash Sham 3/1).
