Students encouraged to think beyond traditiona­l jobs, consider becoming entreprene­urs

Entreprene­urs should take risks because it allows them to grow and push boundaries, says Saikrishna Mantravadi, CEO of Frontlines EduTech

Beyond looking for traditiona­l jobs after graduation, students should think of becoming entreprene­urs and generating employment for others, said Saikrishna Mantravadi, cofounder and CEO of Frontlines EduTech Private Limited (FLM), on Wednesday.

He was addressing students of the PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology at their two-day event being held on April 24-25, ‘Avinya Imprendito­ri’, which forms part of a 10day workshop on ‘Student Innovation and Entreprene­urship’ being conducted from April 17 to April 26.

An alumni of the college, Mr. Mantravadi said that entreprene­urs should take risks because it allows them to grow and push boundaries, which can lead to innovative ideas and business success. He highlighte­d that India has a growing market for startups, and said that 60% of IIT graduates have been rejecting traditiona­l job oers to start their own entreprene­urial venture.

Moreover, Santosh Chaluvadi, CEO of Supraja Technologi­es, said that entreprene­urship is all about problem-solving.

S. Krishna Soujanya, founder of Businest consultanc­y urged rst-year students to organise the event independen­tly without support from either the faculty or the management.

As part of the event, students showcased innovative projects like recycled crafts, customised jewellery, fruit candy, nail art, temporary tattoos and a mock ‘Shark Tank’ among several others.
