Vote YSRCP for continuation of welfare schemes: Jagan

-

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has squarely blamed Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and his party workers for stalling the door-to-door distribution of pensions on the šrst of every month.

“Mr. Naidu stooped down to such a low that he compelled the pensioners to run from pillar to post to get their pension benešts. Mr. Naidu has already shown his true colours by not making a mention of pensions in his Super 6 and Super 7 electoral promises. A vote for the YSRCP will ensure the smooth continuation and implementation of the welfare schemes, which the

Opposition alliance would never make it happen,” Mr. Jagan said, adding, “wait till June 4. The volunteers will be reinstated and pensions will be disbursed at doorsteps.”

Mr. Jagan was addressing a meeting at Kanigiri in Prakasam district on Friday.

He addressed meetings at Narasapuram in West Godavari and Pedakurapadu in Palnadu districts as well.

At those meetings, the Chief Minister said Mr. Naidu’s election promises were just like a ¢ash in the pan and would last only till the polls. The people had to be wary of it, and not to fall prey to his shallow promises as it had become a routine for him to hack their gullibility into votes. Flaunting the TDP manifesto, Mr. Jagan read out the election promises which Mr. Naidu made in the run up to 2014 elections and failed to implement the same.

The TDP leader defaulted on the 2014 election manifesto promise of waiver of farms loans worth ₹87,612 crore, self-help group loans worth ₹14,205 crore, on deposit of ₹25,000 on birth of girl babies under Mahalakshmi scheme, on allotment of 3cent house sites to the poor, job for every house hold and ₹2,000 monthly stipend for the unemployed in the absence of job. Mr. Naidu’s super six and super seven promises are impracticable and a vote for TDP will enable him to dump them into dustbin this time also, he warned people, he said.

Describing the elections as a class war between the YSRCP-led poor people and TDP-led feudalistic forces, Mr. Jagan said Mr. Naidu never thought of the welfare of the poor despite ruling the State for 14 years. The YSRCP blazed the trail and implemented slew of welfare scheme such as Amma Vodi, Vidya Deevena, Vidya Kanuka, YSR Cheyutha, Aasara, Rythu Bharosa and Kapu Nestham. The medical and health sector was modernised with YSR Aarogyasri limit being increased to ₹25 lakh and preventive healthcare being taken to the doorstep of people by family doctors, he added.
