District administration gears up for elections
Officials have been conducting regular meetings and training programmes for the staff in every Assembly constituency on Model Code of Conduct and duties of flying squad teams
in Parliament and contributed to its growth. She was aware of the issues pertaining to the region and her election as MP from Visakhapatnam would contribute to the growth of the region.
He also called upon the party workers to strive for the success of the party nominees in the seven Assembly constituencies under the purview of Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.
Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana said that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was striving to do good to all sections of the society through various welfare schemes and called upon the people to return him to power.
He alleged that the 14yearold rule of TDP national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was mired in corruption while the fiveyearod rule of the YSRCP government has witnessed development. He said that the party workers, who work with dedication, would be suitably rewarded by the party.
Ms. Jhansi alleged that the TDP leaders were not in a position to say what they had done for the State during their rule while Mr. Jagan was seeking the support of people on the basis of the work done by him for their development.
Mr. Gudivada Amarnath said that the State had developed as never before under the YSRCP government.
Ahead of the release of the schedule for the general elections by the Election Commission of India, the district administration is gearing up to organise the polls in a peaceful manner.
Apart from conducting regular meetings and training programmes for the staff in every Assembly constituency, the administration has also reached out to the voters through various awareness programmes.
District Collector A. Mallikarjuna along with Joint Collectors conducted regular meetings with the staff over the election duties. Sessions were organised over model code of conduct (MCC), duties of flying squad teams, static surveillance team, video viewing teams, IT teams and others. The officials were briefed about the surveillance on rallies, public meetings and keeping a check on supply of liquor, cash and other goods.
Recently, a threeday Dial your Collector was organised by the Collector to address issues of the voters.
With the coordination from the Police Department, the district is being brought under complete security blanket. Police Commissioner A. Ravi Shankar had also organised a series of meetings with his staff about the election preparedness. Apart from the existing checkposts, additional checkposts were set up at several areas in the last few weeks.
Mr. Mallikarjuna, Mr. Ravi Shankar and GVMC commissioner C.M. Saikanth Varma have inspected the Andhra University campus and checked several buildings to set up strongroom, counting room and a few others.
Mr. Mallikarjuna had informed the AU authorities that once the election notification is released, the district administration would inform them on how many blocks they would need for the elections.
