Manchester United’s Rashford left out of England’s provisional squad for the Euro
Marcus Rashford was left out of England's provisional squad for the European Championship on Tuesday. The United striker has paid the price for a disappointing season at club level and was not part of Gareth Southgate's 33-man squad. Jordan Henderson and Reece James were also left out.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to set a
Euro record after he was named in Portugal’s 26man 2024 squad, unveiled on Tuesday by coach Roberto Martinez. The 39year-old ve-time Ballon d’Or winner will be appearing in his 11th major international tournament. He will be making a record sixth appearance.
Ronaldo already holds the men’s world record for caps (206) and international goals (128). He again proved indispensable as Portugal won all 10 of its qualifying games.
