Medical institute celebrates first anniversar­y


CHENNAI: SRM Institutes for Medical Science, Vadapalani, celebrated its first anniversar­y on Saturday.

Chess grandmaste­r Viswanatha­n Anand participat­ed and addressed the gathering, a press release from the institute said.

He also inaugurate­d the hand injury service and the sports medicine centre at the institute.

Ravi Pachamooth­oo, chairman, SRM Group and founder, SIMS Hopsital said that when the journey of the hospital began, the aim was to transform healthcare in Chennai by combining clinical outcomes with enriched patient experience.

In the last year, the hospital has performed a number of complex procedures including liver, kidney and bone marrow transplant­s and minimally invasive heart valve surgeries, the release said.

The 345-bed hospital offers 22 specialtie­s and also has eight specialise­d ICUs with doctors on call 24x7.

It sees patients from across India and several other countries.
